Packaging
Products under protective atmosphere are packed in an advanced multi-layered plastic film, which prevents air from entering the packaging. This exactly forms the key behind the extended shelf life of 12 weeks, as the fresh air can impossibly age and thus deteriorate the bread, all this without adding any single conservation product to the bread!!
For smaller volumes, these packagings are made of transparent plastic and a colourful sticker is applied that carries the marketing message, the ingredient list and other legal information. In the case of larger volumes, it becomes economical to print directly onto the top film of the packaging. This allows for marketing messages over the entire surface and becomes the driving factor for brand recognition at the point of sale.
Given the industrial machinery that is required to seal the packaging, its format or shape cannot be changed at a glance. Still, La Lorraine Bakery Group continues to invest in different sets of moulds that let you differentiate at the level of packaging format or shape, in addition to the innovation that can be done at the level of the bread itself (see tastes).
For the moment, La Lorraine Bakery Group can offer the following types of packaging:
- A long packaging containing 4 ciabattinas of 60 gr
- A long packaging with 2 sandwich ciabattas, each weighing around 120 gr
- A long packaging with a single ciabatta for a weight of 250 gr. This packaging is the very same used for the artisan baguette
- Under certain conditions, a square packaging can be used for the smaller ciabatta breads or for the pavé type of products
